EDLD School-Community Relations

I have just recently completed EDLD 5326 about School-Community Relations.  I have been thinking about ways to strengthen parent-teacher relations at the school for awhile.  This course has given me a chance to see what research suggests are effective ways to communicate.  My sons started kindergarten this year and it has made me think a lot more about the parents and their relationship to their students' education.  I feel like I am in the dark about so many things.  It has inspired me to try harder to keep parents involved.  I have made a more concerted effort to contact the parents to keep them apprised of upcoming assignments and assessments.  The efforts have been made with encouragement and gratitude.
